Inspired by my passion for Blender and fascination with geometry nodes, I developed Modular, a Blender Addon designed to streamline the modeling of modular systems. At its core, Modular functions as a sophisticated tessellator, allowing users to model and detail complex structures in a non-destructive manner. What sets it apart is its capacity to project geometry not only onto object faces but also across edges while pinning or scattering models based on vertices.
With its custom operator UI, Modular facilitates the creation of semi-procedural assets, making it simpler to work with modular geometry. Key features include Face Modules for projecting meshes, Edge Modules for replacing edges with pre-made assets, and Scatter Modules to distribute assets across various surfaces.
Modular integrates seamlessly into Blender's workflow, reducing effort by enabling reusable modules. While performance may vary with highly complex meshes, Modular remains an effective tool for creating detailed models quickly and efficiently.
